About Us
Wylde Hearth bring together over twenty years of forest school and Bushcraft knowledge where we can share the beautiful things we make and teach the skills that we feel empower us as indigenous humans. We gather our materials for our crafts from the woods and rivers in and around Devon and sometimes further afield, we often visit sacred sites and bring back material to make items that honour the place and our journey. We up-cycle and use waste materials where possible so as to not create extra demand, we frequently make our own materials from cord to ink, cast metal items, tan our own leather and prepare raw hide.
Sharing is the focus of Wylde Hearth and we hope that by making things available to people, we inspire as well as produce beautiful and often one off artisan items to endure and bring joy for many years. We are all the caretakers and we believe these skills are the key to the future we want to make a reality. Come take a seat around the Wylde Hearth and share in the journey of learning which we are passionate to show.

During his 25 year journey, Daniel has trained with Ben McNutt of Wild Human, and worked as a workshop leader and assistant to our wonderful friend Thomas Schorr-Kon of Trackways. His hobbies and interests have always taken him into the woods and into nature whenever possible to learn and hone bushcraft and indigenous skills.More recently Daniel has worked as a freelance instructor for various outdoor education groups as well as running his own workshops and sessions around the south west of England.
Alongside the workshops and courses, Daniel has been developing craft skills concentrating on leatherwork, as well as making various shamanic items; drums, rattles, medicine shields and smudging fans. Daniel has enjoyed carving stones and bone to make various pendants and different styles of jewellery, in all making things for well over 20 years.
